Post, Freight and Carriers

Is it illegal to post certain chemical reactions on the Internet, regardless of intent?

Some reactions could technically be used to make explosives. However, if one is simply doing the reactions for the purposes of chemistry, such as doing a demonstration for educational purposes or just simply for fun, and has absolutely no intention of killing anyone with it, would it still be illegal to post?

  1. Not knowing who will read your post and perhaps be endangered, I think it would be irresponsible, if not illegal.
  2. What's wrong with plain old baking soda and vinegar? Or Mentos and diet Coke?
  3. I don't think so. I'm not actually sure, but I can't see how they could have made knowledge illegal.
  4. Yes and no. It's not illegal if you're from the US, you have the right to free speech. However if someone uses that information to make a bomb and blows something up then you could be charged with something, unfortunately I can't recall what. You could also be put on a government watch list, have your stuff confiscated, your phone tapped, etc. You should really think twice before posting anything on the internet.
