In export term is the exporter require to prepay freight on FOB shipment and claim it back from the importer?

or the shipping company will collect the freight from the importer after loading on board the ship.

1. No. On FOB terms, the contract prices just including the cost of cargoes and excluding the ocean freight. You said it was C&F.C&F mean that the contract prices including the cost of cargo and ocean freight.On FOB term, when the shipment reached distination, the import want to get Bill of Lading from carrier for clear customs . Importer will be requesed pay the ocean freight by the carrier. After pay the ocean frieght, the importer have to carry this bill of lading to clear customs, pay taxes, etc.
