Victims of trafficking are brought into the system through several means. Most victims of trafficking today come from three populations. First, parents may sell children to traffickers in order to pay off debts or gain income. Second, runaways or other displaced persons may be picked up by traffickers. Third, people who are seeking entry to other countries may be picked up by traffickers, and typically are misled into thinking that they will be free after being smuggled across the border. History Early trafficking efforts focused on white slavery. In 1904, the International Agreement for the Suppression of the White Slave Traffic was created, although very few countries signed it. The first concerted international effort to combat trafficking came in 1949, with the U.N. Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others. Little did i know that the shipping method they suggested, which is DHL express (because there are no other methods, international shipping from USA), really depleted my cash in hand. Here's why: they told me that DHL express costs 24USD. But i didn't know that was only the freight cost! Unfortunately, i had to get from my savings!! (again!). Please read and advise... am I being scammed? Ok this is what's going on. Recently I put up an item for sale on the local classifieds website. This person responded to my ad saying he's some merchandise broker and that he's interested in buying it. I prefer to be paid cash, but he said that it would be impossible for him to pay cash as he won't be personally coming over to pick it up, and that he'd be sending a truck (from a freight service ) over to pick up the item. He wanted to send a check rather, and asked for my mailing address. For safety reasons I did not give him my personal mailing address, but rather an alternative one (work postbox). I said that I would first want the check to be cleared through the bank, before I trust someone enough to give my item away. He agreed. Well... I still haven't received the check and nor does he want to tell me whether he has sent it out yet or not. Moreover, he is asking me for more info, such as my phone number, so that he can arrange things with the shipper to have my item picked up (so he says!). He says that he will only let me know about the status of his payment after I give him my number! As for me, until and unless I receive the check or at least get some assurance that it's on its way (as we had initially agreed), I do not want him to arrange anything with the shipper and nor do I want to give out any further contact details! I have no clue where in the world he's been communicating with me from, or if anything about him's legitimate at all. When I had asked for his contact number, so that I could discuss and negotiate over the phone, he gave me some satellite number starting with a foreign international code. AEROPOSTALE IS FUCKED UP? i am based internationally i ordered some stuff from aero a while back then shipped it to my freight forwarder to ship it international so. aero shipped a wrong item out and when I contacted them said they would send a pre-paid return shipping label to my freight forwarder but that they were "unable to send this label to an international address and can not be responsible for any international shipping charges that may be incurred in order to return the item" wtf? Do you think the US transporation system is heading for collapse? The head of the IATA (International Airline Transport Assoc.) announced on BBC news yesterday that airlines have lost more money in the 1st quarter of 2009 than they have MADE since airplanes were invented over 100 years ago. This should be a red flag to anyone who ha listened to the news lately, since about half of the US airlines have been close to insolvency for years and have needed bailout money to keep flying. The recent recession has crippled air freight and business travel, and has made things very bad indeed for the airline industry in general and may spark a spate of "going out of business" signs. The industry is so weak that if that happens, there may be no one to step in and provide service to discontinued routes. It is no great surprise either that the US highways are in bad shape and cannot handle any extra traffic...witness some very large trucking companies switching to rail transport because of bottlenecks and severe delays caused by excess traffic. Some eastern states are investing in rail corridors because enlarging freeways is too expensive. In essence, the highway system is at capacity and cannot handle additional traffic, and since the Interstate system was started in the 1950's, no major projects have ever been done. The Bush administration even refused to increase bridge inspections when one collapsed in Minnesota....our roads are in as bad a shape as the airlines. The real kicker here is that the Feds have favored both air and auto exclusively and both are in trouble. The rails are private companies and are very capital intensive, and even tho they are very profitable even in these bad times, capacity increases are notorious budget busters. They are currently at capacity in a lot of corridors and have actually turned away some traffic because of congestion. The Feds continue to stonewall on freight rail investment. Since the 1950's, the US pretty much lost all of it's manufacturing to other countries. More or less, everything we buy is not made in the USA and has to be imported, mainly from the Far East. Steel, textiles, shoes, clothing, electronics, cameras, TVs....all gone, and autos are almost all gone as we speak. My question is this....what will happen when the airlines crap out and everyone has to drive because their are no passenger trains or any other alternative...and the highways can't take the traffic? Secondly, how will increased imports ever get to consumers if both highways and rail is at capacity? Will the USA choke on it's own foolishness?

How can I have someone involuntarily committed to a Mental Health facility for observation? I manage a mid-sized freight forwarding company. A secretary in our office has been distributing xerox copies of websites, White Papers, Working Group Final Reports and other material she's gleaned from internet sources. I've talked with her, trying my best to convince her that most things found on the Internet are unreliable. She claims these articles and memos are legitimately found by her son, who surfs the net as a hacker. She's convinced completely that a large group of well known International corporations have merged with scientific groups, and also governmental entities to create a SYSTEM of Management, automated, that will enable a perpetual extraction of "service" without resistance, using technology, robust facilities and hardened digital networks. The woman needs to be diagnosed and treated. She's an excellent worker, clean, friendly and very sharp, otherwise. In fact, her husband is a well-known singer in our city, and both appear to have a stable life.

So far the cheapest one i have found is- www.ApolloExportsInternational.com They charge £7.95 per chargeable KG air freight from China to the UK / USA, and that even includes pickup and delivery at both ends + all taxes and VAT are included in that 1 set price. And for ocean freight they charge around less tha £6 per KG! :) Ive used their airfreight service quite a few times now, and it took 6days delivery to me in London so i was very happy. However does anyone know of any cheaper companies than them though???
